Our annual general meetings are an opportunity to get together as an association to network, stay up to date with the direction of our organization, and vote for the board of directors who represent the Acheson Business Association.
We will be serving a delicious lunch and have a lineup of speakers discussing topics that are relevant to the Acheson community.
Meet our speakers:
Martyn Phillips of Value Assurance Resources 360 Inc speaking on Value Engineering in Construction & Manufacturing: Martyn will be speaking about the use and method of Value Engineering for projects, both for construction and manufacturing projects. Value Engineering is a process developed by GE in the early 1950s for jet engine development. Martyn has been a VE Facilitor in Europe, NA and Asia has introduced VE to a number of large corporations.
Frank Burdzy of Champion Petfoods speaking on Champion Pet Food & The Acheson Project: Frank Burdzy is President & CEO for Champion Petfoods LP. Frank grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, spending the first 15 years of his working life farming. In addition to his passion for agriculture, he has a keen interest and knack for business. This agriculture passion and business skill set led to an extensive career in agriculture and agri-food, having held several leadership positions and board appointments. His international management and board involvement has assisted Champion to grow its exports to over 80 countries and counting. He holds a Bachelor of Business Degree and a Masters of Business Degree from the University of Regina. He was appointed a Director of McCoy Corporation in 2005 where he chairs its Audit Committee and sits on its Compliance and Risk Committee. When not putting long hours in at the office, he can be found spending time with his family, running, or playing golf.
