The division undertakes economic analysis\, data analytics\, policy development\, and major investor relations to support job creating investment in Alberta.\n\n\n\nPrior to rejoining the Government of Alberta\, Liam was Head of Policy and Sustainability for TransAlta Corporation\, one of Canada's largest independent power producers with operations in Canada\, the U.S.\, and Australia.\n\n\n\nPrior to joining TransAlta\, Liam held progressively more responsible positions in the Government of Alberta including Assistant Deputy Minister in the Policy Coordination Office of Executive Council\, Alberta's Acting Senior Representative to the United States and Managing Director of the Alberta Washington\, D.C. Office\, and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations.\n\n\n\nEarlier in his career\, Liam also served as Senior Policy Advisor to the federal Minister of Environment and Minister of Intergovernmental Relations and Western Economic Diversification.
