Description
Acheson Business Community Clean-Up Challenge
Issued by SMS Equipment, in partnership with the Acheson Business Association
We build things. We move earth. We work outside in all conditions. And because of that, we understand better than most that looking after the land and the places we work and live matters.
This Earth Day, SMS Equipment—together with the Acheson Business Association—is challenging businesses across the Acheson Business Park to step up and take part in a Community Clean-Up Challenge.
Winter has a way of leaving its mark. Wind, snow, and runoff push garbage into ditches, fence lines, green spaces, and neighbourhoods—often out of sight until the spring melt. We all play a part in how that waste ends up there, and that means we can all be part of fixing it.
This challenge is simple:
· Grab some gloves and bags.
· Pick a spot—near your shop, on a jobsite, along a road, or in your own neighbourhood.
· Be Safe
ü Please take care while participating:
ü Wear gloves
ü Supervise children closely
ü Do not collect hazardous materials (sharp objects, needles, chemicals)
ü If you see something unsafe, leave it and contact your local municipality
ü If cleaning near roads or traffic, wear bright-coloured clothing or a reflective vest to ensure visibility
ü No open toed shoes
Every bit makes a difference.
We also encourage you to take it home. Get your crews, coworkers, and families involved. Show kids, friends, and neighbours that taking care of your community doesn’t have to be complicated—it just takes showing up.
This isn’t about winning a prize or pointing fingers. It’s about pride in where we work, respect for where we live, and setting an example in the communities that support our industries every day.
Let’s show what the Acheson business community can do when we roll up our sleeves and take action—on the job, and beyond it.
Join the challenge. Clean up. Take pride. Lead by example.
