Description
Join the ABA for a special edition of Coffee in the Park. With the uncertainty of possible tariffs between Canada and the US, we invite you to join us for an interactive discussion about the implications and the impact they will have on the various industry sectors in Acheson.
Our guest will be Liam Stone, the Assistant Deputy Minister of Economic Strategy and Investment for Alberta's Jobs, Economy and Trade portfolio.
As always, this is a great opportunity to network with other business leaders in and around Acheson.
Space is limited, and you must be an ABA Member to register.
Liam is the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Economic Strategy and Investment Division with Jobs, Economy and Trade. The division undertakes economic analysis, data analytics, policy development, and major investor relations to support job creating investment in Alberta.
Prior to rejoining the Government of Alberta, Liam was Head of Policy and Sustainability for TransAlta Corporation, one of Canada’s largest independent power producers with operations in Canada, the U.S., and Australia.
Prior to joining TransAlta, Liam held progressively more responsible positions in the Government of Alberta including Assistant Deputy Minister in the Policy Coordination Office of Executive Council, Alberta’s Acting Senior Representative to the United States and Managing Director of the Alberta Washington, D.C. Office, and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations.
Earlier in his career, Liam also served as Senior Policy Advisor to the federal Minister of Environment and Minister of Intergovernmental Relations and Western Economic Diversification.
