Service/Fleet/Install Manager

Northgate Industries Ltd. is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and agile Service/Fleet/Install Manager to lead our motivated Service team. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s service, installation, and renovation operations for our industrial modular and mobile assets. This role ensures all installation projects, service work, and maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Service/Fleet/Install Manager will provide strong leadership to a skilled team, manage subcontractors, and coordinate resources to meet project requirements, deadlines, and budgets. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS: 

  • Oversee all aspects of installation, service, and renovation operations for modular units and fleet assets, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to Northgate’s quality standards.
  • Manage full life-cycle service processes, from planning and scheduling through execution and close-out.
  • Coordinate with sales department to ensure accuracy of SOW’s, projects and best experience for client interaction and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and schedule service work—including maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installations—to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Supervise installation crews, service technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for installations, renovations, and transportation logistics, including route planning, fuel, and labor costs to support project budgeting.
  • Review and assess modular and fleet units for upgrades, repairs, and end-of-life considerations, recommending appropriate actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of service and installation activities, ensuring proper documentation within Northgate’s ERP system.
  • Oversee vendor and subcontractor relationships, ensuring alignment with Northgate’s expectations for quality, safety, and performance.
  • Provide ongoing support to field and service personnel regarding maintenance, installation, and repair inquiries.
  • Generate and present reports on service performance, installation progress, and equipment health to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
 
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Proven experience in modular construction, installation, or service management.
  • Strong leadership shills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete multiple projects within strict timelines and budgets.
  • Experience with ERP systems and project tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of industrial modular units, construction practices, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong budgeting, estimating and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology/systems. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Class 5 non GDL license, with clean driver’s abstract. The successful applicant must be willing take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test. Travel and mobility will be required. 
 
WORK CONDITIONS
  • The position is a full-time office-based position in our Acheson, Alberta office. 
  • Periodic site work/out of town work may be required.
  • May be required to operate a fleet vehicle for business purposes.
